Mild High Club - Skiptracing - VG+ LP Record 2016 Stones Throw USA Vinyl - Indie Rock / Lo-Fi / Psych-Soul
UNCLE SHUG SAYS
Ladies and gentlemen, you are now free to move, groove, and doob about the cabin. Following a hazy river-trip on a set of wax grooves with Timeline, our highest and mildest club at the reigns of one bearded shamen, Alexander Brettin, return from what sounds like a journey straight out of a nearly-forgotten golden era of true Jazz innovation. Caught in between minor piano chords and twelve-string guitar-sewn melody lies a giant cloud of sweet, sweet reefer madness creating an honest-to-genre take on the always interesting blend of Jazz and Psychedelia. Imagine listening to Steely Dan's Aja in reverse while submerged underwater surrounded by the entire animated cast of Finding Nemo and there one can find a fair comparison to the niche quality that this select roundup of starving music-school stoners have been able to sonically perfect. Overall and all in all, this is one hell of a Jazz record, one hell of a Psychedelic record, one hell of a Lounge record, but most of all, it's one hell of soundtrack to a world constantly in motion. Jazz you up real good, sugarbaby. Mild HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Club.
