Me oh my, where does one start with this tape-hissed nugget of dreamy lo-fi indie rock? Yessir, what we have here is only chapter one for the fossils of the beach, bringing in those dreamy guitar tones that can both compare and contrast to your parents' dusty collection of Joy Division and other british new wave/post-punk wax. Track by track, this album is one of many staple checkmarks within a resurging, and also budding change in a genre of rock that offers a certain therapeudic hug to the ears reminiscent of the growing pains-esque emotions of new wave at its core beginnings.
