Butterfly was conceived in 1971 by a small team of architects and graphic designers as a renovation project in a declining area of Des Moines, Iowa.
Springin from the idea of rebirth and renaissance, the name suggests all of the newness and richness which this unique showroom has become.
Highlighted by neon sculpture, a rich and vibrant color scheme, dramatic use of mirrors, lights and supergraphics, Butterfly provides a natural background for the nationally known entertainers.
Since opening in December, 1971, Butterfly has caught the imagination of thousands with its exciting decor, warm furnishings, its fresh entertainment and atmosphere. Butterfly has become one of the most popular night spots in the midwest.
Now Butterfly is pleased to bring you a new recording label, Butterfly Recording Co., and to introduce to you a new group, NORTHWALL, recorded live at Butterfly.
